Mukteshwar Dham Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is a cherished spiritual site with strong ties to Hindu mythology. It is said that Lord Shiva vanquished a demon here, granting him mukti (salvation), which gave the temple its name. Situated 2.5 km north of Mukteshwar town, the temple is a major attraction for visitors. Indian Veterinary Research Institute

One of the oldest laboratories on cattle plague, named the Imperial Bacteriology Laboratory, was set up in Mukteshwar in 1893. The institute was set up to conduct research on the cattle plague and provide relief for the same. In 1936, it was named the Indian Veterinary Research Institute. The institute is the oldest one of its kind in the country. Academic and research activities are regular here.
