Jim Corbett National Park has six major entry gates, each providing access to the park's different zones. Each zone offers unique flora, fauna, and landscape, so choosing the right gate can enhance your experience.
Dhikala Gate: The most popular entry, Dhikala is famous for tiger sightings and scenic landscapes.
Jhirna Gate: Located in the southern part of the park, Jhirna offers year-round access and is known for its wildlife diversity, including sloth bears and leopards.
Bijrani Gate: Situated near Ramnagar, Bijrani is another well-known zone for tiger sightings and lush forests.
Durga Devi Gate: This gate leads to the hilly northwest region of the park, known for Elephant sightings.
Dhela Gate: Dhela offers a mixture of dense forests and open grasslands and has a high chance of tiger sightings.
Vatanvasa Gate: Located near the Sonanadi Wildlife Sanctuary, this gate provides access to the quieter and less commercialised part of the National Park.

Safari Timings
The best way to explore Jim Corbett National Park is through guided safaris, which offer the opportunity to experience its diverse wildlife and landscapes. The general timings are as follows. The timings vary depending on the season - Check the official website for accurate timings.
Morning safari: 6:00 AM to 9:30 AM
Evening safari: 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM
Types of Safaris
Jeep Safari: The most popular choice, jeep safaris accommodate up to six people and are available in most zones, including Dhikala, Bijrani, and Jhirna. Jeep safaris are available twice a day - early morning and late afternoon.
Canter Safari: If travelling with a larger group or don't have a Jeep reservation, Canter Safaris are a good option. Canters can accommodate up to 16 people and primarily operate in the Dhikala zone. They follow the same timing as jeep safaris but offer a slightly different experience due to their size.

Best Time to Visit
The park remains open from mid-November to mid-June, with each season offering a different charm. During the monsoon season (July to mid-November), most zones are closed due to flooding and road conditions, but the Jhirna and Dhela zones remain accessible. Winter months (November to February) are perfect for wildlife spotting, as animals come out to bask in the sun. Summer (March to June) offers the best chances for tiger sightings, as animals are to be near water bodies.
